Thanks for purchasing the running light gadget from Columbia Scooters. In some states running lights are frowned upon, so we disclaim that this setup is for off-road use only. PLEASE READ THESE DIRECTIONS COMPLETELY BEFORE STARTING. Now lets get started! We suggest laying a towel or sheet of bubblewrap over the fender to protect it. 1. Loosen the horncover by removing the 6 phillips screws from the back of the legshield. Behind the horncover there are lots of wires, the turnsignal flasher, the turnsignal beeper, your front turnsignal sockets and wires, and your horn. 2. Disconnect the horn by pulling the electrical connectors off the 2 spades. 3. Disconnect your right and left turnsignal by depressing the tabs and separating the quick-connectors. 4. Disconnect the stock flasher by removing the "L": shaped 2 wire connector. Install the blue double-ended jumper wire into this "L" connector. 5. Disconnect your beeper by pulling off the 2 connectors. The horncover is now free from the scooter. 1. Remove the flasher from the horncover (it is no longer needed) by pulling its rubber hanger off the brass colored bracket. 2. Remove the beeper by first removing the horn (2 small nuts and bolts). With the horn removed, you will have access to the 2 small straight screws holding the beeper to the bracket. Remove the screws, remove the beeper (no longer needed), and re-install the horn into the horncover. You are now ready to install and test your new running light setup. Familiarize yourself with the gadget. From it, there are two, 2 pin female connectors for your front turn signals (right and left). There is a pair of 3-pin connectors that will interrupt your turnsignal switch circuit. There is 1 ground wire that will attach to your ignition screw. Let's put it on! 1. On your bike, there are many wire connections now exposed. Locate the only white, 3-pin connector. Separate this connector and "interrupt" or click the gadgets' 3-pin connectors into the corresponding sex (male into female). 2. Connect the two front turnsignal wires from the gadget into your horncover signals (green and blue 2 pin connectors). 3. Attach the single ground wire from the gadget to the smaller Phillips screw on the back of the ignition. 4. Slip the gadget into the brass-colored bracket in the horncover. Use tape or other adhesive to secure. 5. Turn on the key, and test. No need to start the engine. 6. Tuck the wires as needed and reattach the horncover using the 6 screws. |
