This 48-volt, 10-amp charger uses a customized software program to provide a balance of quick charge times with long battery life. Forced air cooled and housed within an aluminum extrusion acting as a heat-sink, the e-Moto charger is extremely durable. Electric motors produce near-instantaneous torque, as opposed to gasoline engines that must rev to generate power. With this instantaneous power, something must be done to allow controlled acceleration. The e-Moto controller uses a German-designed, microprocessor controlled computer to ramp the power of the electric motor. This provides an aggressive acceleration profile, while maintaining safe and economical operation. The controller is mounted within a sealed, cast aluminum case; and is internally protected against short and fire. Developed for use in the harshest of conditions, e-Moto’s cutting edge Silicon Batteries provide incredible performance while being kind to the environment. Instead of the harmful acid used in conventional batteries, e-Moto uses Silicon Silicate as an electrolyte—a non-toxic and environmentally friendly solution. Unlike our competitors Nickel-Metal-Hydride batteries, the Silicon battery has no chemical memory and provides full performance through out the charge capacity. This means the scooter will continue to have its full performance until the battery is discharged—no more progressive decrease in performance! e-Moto’s batteries are designed for heavy duty use and have nearly 1,000-cycles of lifespan.
The final piece of technology that sets e-Moto apart from the competition is our high-performance electric motor. The hub-centric brushless motor, unlike conventional electric motors, has no wearing parts, gear box, or drive chain. This makes for near-silent operation and zero maintenance. The motor is sealed in a cast-aluminum wheel/hub assembly to be weather-tight, and will provide thousands of miles of trouble-riding. e-Moto offers the high-efficiency motor in both a 1,500-watt and 2,000-watt configuration, depending on the model.
